The Law And Health And Safety

Armourers are required by law to be present during the use of firearms or prohibited weapons such as knives, swordsticks and knuckle-dusters. Due to the recent changes in public opinion and situations where the police have been involved with members of the public wielding replica arms, guidelines have changed.

If you are planning on using weapons in a public place whether live or not, please contact us and we can advise you on the most cost effective way of achieving your aim.

Health and safety.

All our armourers are trained in health and safety: noise at work regulations, control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH), risk assessments and have a high level of safety awareness. We now have our City and Guilds on Health and Safety and all our safety equipment is provided to British Safety Standards.

You will be provided with a risk assessment prior to filming, which should be signed, returned to SAS and a copy placed in your call sheet for the relevant day.
